Preparation
So, moving to Dublin means a lot of preparation and apart from school, work and accomodation I also need clothing. So, I've done some research and I really want theese;
Being a student for the first time and all I have no idea on how to spend the money. Could these be worth £89.00? They are
Hunter Boots and will be delivered super fast. Dublin is really rainy right, so I do REALLY need these, don't I?!
Beginning of Business in my mind
Been sitting in the livingroom for an hour doing research on famous and influential people in the area of business management and Hey, there are LOADS!! I've never heard of any of them before but they're all really clever, sensible and cool. I especially like
Seth Godin and his wise words. I've been following his blog for almost a month now and he's taught me a lot already.
"Your first mistake might be assuming that people are rational,
Your second mistake could be assuming that people are eager for change.
The third mistake is assuming that once someone knows things the way you know them, they will choose what you chose."
When I read this I was overwhelmed. These words fit in to so many moments and people in my life that it's amazing. I love this. Business Management. I truly think that I've chosen the right education.
Now I'm going to have a little break. Pussisar!
More shopping and more England.
It feels like the only thing I'm doing in England is shopping, haha!! Today we woke up and went straight to Sainsbury. We bought some sausage rolls and then went to the barber to get Benjamin's hair cut. Here in England you kind of just walk in, wait for a few minutes, get your hair cut, pay and walk out. It only takes like 20min and there's no booking required. At least not for the men, I guess it's different for women...? Then followed some more shopping in forms of paper. I need papers, going to school and all, so we went to WHSmith. I absolutely loved the store!! And I bought a bunch of stuff! Or, I didn't actually buy that much and we haven't been shopping that much it's just that I've been living in the mountains and not been shopping at all for a year! So now a little shopping feels like a lot!
Hey!! Benjamin's family got home last night! I was asleep in the sofa in the back room and woke up when they all of a sudden came in the front door. The empty house is now full of people and today his mom is going to serve us some spaghetti bolognese. I've been looking forward to taste her cooking because Benjamin has told me its super good but apparently not at all like the Swedish cuisine.
Now I have to try and get rid of this stupid headache that doesn't seem to want to go away! I think it's because I've been living in the mountains in dry air for a year and now all of a sudden I'm at sea level in very humid air. I think my body is struggling with these changes... I need to drink more water.
Cold pork pie. Yummie.
Cold sausageroll, not so yummie..
It's acctually not a sausage inside, it's minced meat. Surprise!
All the stuff I bought at WHSmith. Happy Bird!!
A little fat trip
We went to McDonalds. It was the first time in half a year that I had the disgusting but delicious fat food. We ordered a bit of everything. Was goood! Now I feel dirty. And hey, in England you can have just as much sauce as you want!! Amazing huh? In Sweden you have to pay if you want more than two. Now I'm going to order me some flight tickets to go to Dublin next week end! Wihoo!
Inspiration
I'm working on a logo for my blog. Gosh! there are many birds out there... And I really have to watch out for the famous Twitter one. I don't want mine to look the same! I really like the ones in the top right corner. I'm gonna do something like that but in pink. Dark and light pink. I also want the logo to be easy to draw. Easy to draw, easy for the eye, right? Hrm... this is going to be tough.
Make it a good day
I wake up to Benjamin giving me a kiss on my forehead. It's 07:46 and he is off to work. He whispers to me that he loves me and then leaves the room. I can hear his footsteps as he goes down the stairs, I can hear how the front door creaks when he opens it and then how it slams behind him. I think I can even hear how he starts his car and drives away. All alone.
I'm going to make this a good day so I crawled out of bed, put my sweats on and walked downstairs. Made myself a bowl of cereal with strawberries and a cup of coffee. What can I accomplish today? The sky is the limit and the world is mine.
Home is whenever I am with you
Sorry about the wierd pic. He is asleep and I'm in love. Isn't that amazing? And as the title say my home is whenever I'm with him, my Benjamin. With him I feel safe, comfortable and right. Min älskling.
Good morning England
Waking up in a new town and to a new culture is always fun and Oh! have I missed the English ways of living!! Here in England there is everything you need in big BIG stores that are open 24/7 which is amazing after living in Chamonix because there you never know if the store is going to be open or not, even if it says on the door that it should be. So, after kissing Benjamin like crazy for some time at the aiport we took off from Manchester to one of these big stores in Blackpool. I got everything that I've really missed while living in France such as
Mayonnais (the ones in France are disgusting because they all taste of Dijon mustard!!),
Roast beef noodles,
Lactose free milk (the ones in France taste like whipped cream!),
Chips (Yes, they have that in France but I need it everyday to function normally!),
Dip (this goes with the chips, very necessary!),
Raspberry donuts (for only 65 pence, incredible!),
English soups,
BACON, BACON, BACON, BACON and evern more stuff.
After that visit we drove home to the big, very brittish, house where Benjamins family lives and I ate a little bit of everything that we bought. AMAZING! but.. I had a really bad headache that started in the car somewhere between Chamonix and Geneva so I had paracetamol and then just crashed in bed. Today I still have a bit of a headache... It's been a tough week.
Today I'm not fucking moving. I am just going to sit in this wonderful big empty house by myself, eat tomatosoup and prepare myself for the life in Dublin.
At the airport
What has happened today? My head is empty... I'm at Geneva airport and I don't really understand whats going on. Am I going to England now? Manchester?! And then I'm moving to Dublin? What the fuck is happening?
A year ago I lived in Stockholm. I was living comfortably and safe in a flat with a fun place of work and sharing this with someone who I thought was the love om my life. As we say in swedish, "It came as a bolt from above" when I suddenly desided to make a profile on aupairworld.net. And then when I made the decision to live in France for a year I chocked everybody. Especially myself. It might have been the best decision I've ever made.
Now, here I am, a year later. One year older but a lot more mature. Everything that I've done this year and everyone I've met has made me grow greatly. I am forever greatful for everything that I have got to experience during this year and today I am stronger and tougher. I've also realized that this is my life and no one else's. I don't have to think about what people think and expect of me! I can do whatever I want and whetever I feel like doing and this life will be amazing, like me! I am free!
Me and Ior, my trustworthy travel companion.
A cricket is green
Like, really really green!! I've never seen one before and all of a sudden there is one right next to me on the dining room table! At first I thought it was a kids toy but IT FREAKIN' MOVED!! Haha! Supercool, this made my night.
Sentimental and Goodbye
Oh, Wow. There are so many things in my brain right now I don't know what to do. This day has been rather shattering. I'm so fucking happy about the move but also so fucking sad that I have to leave.
I made a visit to The Offiice Bar today. That wonderful bar where I've been working all summer. I left some stuff for a friend, got my last paycheck and said goodbye to my colleagues. It was tough. I got to hear so many great things about me and I got a lot of hugs. My boss, who reminds me a bit of Baloo in Mowgli, lifted me up and huged me hard. You know, so hard that it makes you loose your breath for a second or two. Then he said 'It has been a pleasure to work with you Josie!'. Well, Baloo, this summer would not have been the same without you and your bar! Working in a bar has been so much fun and my cheeks have been aching all summer because I've been smiling everyday at work. Therefor it was hard to say goodbye but I don't think anyone noticed that. When I left the bar my tears started streaming down my face and when driving back to Chamonix I couldn't see the road properly. But ehh, whatever! I'll be back! You just wait and see!!
After this visit I drove around a bit in Chamonix and said goodbye to some more people. Then I picked up A from the cap loisir. The night carried on as any other familynight and after dinner we started watching Despicable Me 2. In the middle of the movie I descided to take a drive around town again and say goodbye to 2 more friends. Ugh! The tears started streaming down my face again and as I drove back home it was hard to see the road, again.
Now I'm sitting down in the bed where my Chamonix adventure first started and I'm trying to think about other stuff rather than the fact that I'm leaving. Like, that I'm finally going to live in a capital again (Yes, big city life) and that I'm going to get to kiss my wonderful Benjamin again tomorrow. I'm telling myself to think about stuff that makes me happy because I am! Lucky and Happy! Goodnight!
Me and a (former) colleague trying to get a good pic.. Oh..

Will I cry this time?
I'm on my way to the hairdresser. I usually cry after a haircut. Will I this time? I know it's only hair but it's.. it's MY hair. Right?

Everything you own in the box to the left
This morning I went to French class for an hour and a half and then checked out. French is not really interesting now since I'm on my way to Dublin and also we got a new teacher and I don't really like her way of teaching. Or maybe I'm just used to the old teachers teaching methods and can't be arsed getting used to the new teachers teaching... Anyhow, after leaving French class I filled the car up with all my shit and drove to the house. Now, taking all my belongings from the studio down to the car was a fucking workout! I didn't realise before that when you're only one person you have to walk A LOT and carry A LOT to get all that stuff out. Up and down stairs and up an down the elevator. Pugh!! It was all super heavy aswell! I don't understand why I didn't call a friend for some help.. I'm never making that mistake again! When I walked up the stairs for the 6th time I tried to open the studio door with the car keys.. Tired girl.
However, now I'm in the house and got the washing on. I'm cleaning both for me and for the family who ARRIVES TODAY!!! I'm going to get to hug my lovely au-pair kids again! I've missed them a lot and I think this week is going to be awesome, being my last one and all.. Can't wait!!
Money, money, money.
Hey friends!! I got my student loan for DBS!!
This shit feels real now. Only one week left in Cham. Ouch!
Good morning. I'm hungover.
Last night was fun. Two of my chamfriends became a year older and the birthdays was celebrated with booze. I managed to visit 4 bars in 2 hours and get absolutely smashed. Today I'm paying for it. Good morning!
My plan for today was to go to the house, get my big suitcase, pack all my things and then weigh the bag. You know, to be prepared and see if I need to buy some extra weight or not for the flight. But, well... I think I'm just going to lay here and do absolutely nothing until I start work at 15.00. Bar work when you're hungover isn't great but I will manage to keep a smile on my lips. It's still a lot of fun! See you there?
Good morning, shut up, snooze again.
A wise man once wrote
There are some people out there who can put words on a paper (or online) and speak for all of those who have a hard time being heard. Today this person is Ferrett Steinmetz. In my opinion he is a feminist. No, I'm not talking about the feminists that walk the streets of London shouting "DON'T SHAVE YOUR ARMPITS!". I'm talking about the real feminists who acctually care about the women. For me feminism is not about the women being physically equal to men but to be of equal value. Why would the dad "point guns at" the men his daughter date but not at the women his son date? Why could not the dad want his daughter to have awesome sex?
Read the article and the comments below it. You will not regret it. I love this dad and he reminds me of my lovely dad.
Tonight it's only me and my salsa
Now, Let's finish this jar and then go to bed, shall we?
Or I.. aaaaall byyyy myyyy seeeeelf.
(and yes, posing with salsa is totally okay!!)
Here we go again...
Long distance relationship. Why do all my realtionships contain this?! Who the fuck am I? Some kind of queen of long distance relationships? I don't think I really thought this through..
So, I left Benjamin at the airport two hours ago. When I drove there I had both Benjamin and another fellow in the car. Therefor the 'drop off' wasn't that dramatic. A kiss and a goodbye and then I drove away again. I get on the motorway and drive for 30 minutes and then I get a phonecall. My brain reacts instantly with a 'Fuck, now something has happened to Benjamin!!!" but no. It was Benjamin who called but he only wanted to check so that everything was fine and that I had enough money to get back to Cham. I thought earlier that I was so cool for not crying at the airport and now I burst into tears and started crying rivers. Ugh! I really don't think I have thought this through. I hate long distance relationships and now I'm going to be in one for 3 - 4 months.
I'll see you again in 10 days my love. I miss you already!!!
Had a go at Munchies
I'm going to start with WOW, Munchies is amazing!! And now I'm talking about the food and not the quite uncomfortable chairs... Im going to upload some pictures and you guys can see it for yourselfs. And yes, on the last pictures it is me and Benjamin eating three desserts. It was fabulous!!
Well spent 112€, don't you think?!
Me and my love
Why it has been a bit longer between the updates on the blog? Well, it's been Benjamins last days in Chamonix. Therefor all my spare time I spend cuddling him! Yesterday we went to Munchies to eat a posh dinner together. It was amaxing and by the end of the meal we ordered THREE dessert, just because we could!! I'm going to upload pics from the meal later. Right now we're heading off to Mid'Night to eat Benjamins favorite burger that will be his last for this time being in Cham. His plane takes off tomorrow at four and I'm going to drive him to Geneva. I hopw that I will be able to see the road driving back... It's always so much tears invovled when I say goodbye to people.
Who is this fucker?
Someone bumped my car!! Seriously!!
So, I drove to Argentiere and parked the car just above the last busstop there is in that tiny valley. It was a 'VIde Grenier' going on so therefor the regular parking was closed and everybody parked up the road just as I did.
I worked for 7h at The Office and after that returned to the car. Finding it being smashed in the rear. The left side of the cars ass was completely ruined! I was devastated finding it like that I didn't know what to do. After sending an e-mail to my lovely au-pair family (yes, It's their car) I found out there was nothing to do about it. But still, It makes me angry and can someone please tell me who the fucker is who did it?!
Brainstorming in Chamsweater
Books, for sure?!
Ja, for sure. Jag, Caroline Josefin, har beställt hem böcker. Jag ska läsa! Fatta?!
Troligtvis. READY!!
Only in French stores.
Fab day!
Enjoying the last days in Cham!
Gäspar i skolan
Hit me!
I sjukaste laget
This is me
Hur tacky?
Queen of the world lixom.
Helst i lila.
